Today is all about wearing bright colours, which many of you know, I love. January is such a depressing month and I really feel that wearing dark colours can heighten that depression. A lot of women get stuck in the comfort of wearing black and find it difficult to break out of the habit because they don't know how to wear the colours that best suit them.
I've dressed these four ladies based on their colour palette which comes from the tone of their skin, hair and eye, placing them into either warm, neutral or cool...

TOP-TO-TOE TONAL: KIM

Skin: Pink
Hair: Cool grey
Eye: Green
Colour Category: COOL

Kim's cool hair and eye colour really dominate her face and when you have grey hair you have to re-think your whole colour theme. These cool pink tones really suit Kim and bring out the gorgeous pink tones in her skin. I think of burgundy as the black you wear with pink and I've placed the darker colour on Kim's bottom half to balance out her shape.

WARM GLOW: SALLYANN

Skin: Light tan
Hair: Red
Eye: Green/Hazel
Colour Category: WARM

Sallyann is a saucy redhead, she looks DIVINE in these beautiful blush pink tones. They have depth to them so they don't wash her out but enrich the warm hues in her skin. If you wore either colour with black it would take away the warmth, so wear tones from the same family. I love this boot from Sosandar.com, it grounds the outfit but you could swap it for a sexy stiletto in the evening. Not forgetting this Zara sequin skirt that will instantly lift your day.

PRETTY IN PASTEL: CARINA

Skin: Peaches and Cream
Hair: Cool Blonde
Eye: Blue
Colour Category: NEUTRAL/COOL

How cool does Carina look in this fabulous lilac coat from River Island? The reason it works - instead of wearing a harsh white underneath I chose this beautiful oyster shade (worn backwards) which compliments the coolness of Carina's hair, making the whole outfit look chic rather then young and girly. I adore these earrings from Toolally.com you have to check them out.

BRIGHT SPARK: ANDAUNA

Skin: Brown/red tones
Hair: Warm black
Eye: Brown
Colour Category: NEUTRAL

Andauna sits in neutral. This outfit is a great example of how you can have fun with this palette. I just LOVE yellow and bourgainvillea together, they're sharp and fun and perfect for Andauna. She still looks smart but she's showing personaility and that's what we want our clothes to do. To make it cool and casual, I've added these flatform trainers from Charles and Keith.
