I must live half my life in my car, and half my life is probably inside my car… Tops, the odd pair of shoes, endless dog leads, hats, bags, emergency food stashes, hair clips, earrings, and that’s just what I found today.

Every few months I try to sort out my car kit bag, as I always find that I am in such a rush that I end up getting ready in my car…

Johnsons Wet Wipes

If I had to tell you my top 5 most used products, this would be in it. In my career with Susannah, the amount of times we would be rushing somewhere in the car and she would have a spillage on a gorgeous outfit, it is a miracle stain remover in an emergency. Also equally good for removing make up and creams as I am driving and putting my make up on…

Nivea Rich Moisturising Day Cream

The nostalgia I feel smelling Nivea creams is still one of the main reasons I buy from them, although the childhood memory of the rich original is a little more chemical smelling today. It is still a fantastic all rounder for skin and hands in need of intense, immediate moisture.

Roger and Gallet – Imperial

For many years there was really only one eau de cologne, 4711, and for me an eau de cologne should be fresh, and dissipate leaving a light lingering presence. Imperial is my favourite. Brilliant for eradicating old food smells, and spilt coffee, as well as uplifting on the body.

Laura Mercier – Lip Gloss in Bellini

For my skin, hair and eye combination this is a great gloss that pops my eye, isn’t too ‘glossy’ and goes with my sallow skin.

Becca Lip & Cheek Stain in Watermelon

There are lip and cheek stains, and then there is Becca. So many leave a slightly dry lip and I find only really work as a blusher, but Becca have managed to create the perfect consistency for both. If you like a nude look go for Fig, and if you like pinker go for Raspberry.

Charlotte Tilbury Rock 'n' Kohl Eye Cheat

This two in one is perfect for the car; a little dab of one end delivers a brightening eye cream, and the other some great coverage for dark circles. The twist of the pen is slightly weird, so you have to make sure you get the right end to twist to deliver up more product.

Bush Flower Remedies – Calm and Clear

Bush flower do a wide range of ‘situation’ remedies, sexuality, focus, but my favourite is this one, a little like Rescue Remedy but more focused ingredients.

Chanel Healthy Glow Sheer Powder

I don’t normally like using powder, as I think it can be aging, and I avoid strong bronzers. But for a quick juzz this powder is very finally milled, and as its more a face powder than bronzer, I just take no. 25 and it works as a sprinkling of sunshine on my face.

Rae Morris – Kabuki Brush

There is no better-qualified make up artist to understand brushes than Rae Morris. Years ago when I worked in Australia she did my make up and she was talking every day about getting her brush sets formulated. I have a complete set, and after 5 years not one hair has come out, and with careful looking after, they are still my favourite brush for this type of application.

I hope this gives you some inspiration for your car kit. I would love to know your secrets too. What is the one thing you reach for in your car???
