In my bathroom

Today I had the wonderful Caroline Hirons in my bathroom where we chatted all about spots. We brought in Chloe, who has some textural issue on her face including milia, which Caroline expertly removed.
Treating spots is really about nurturing your skin, not attacking it, which can be tempting. However Caroline really believes in hydrating the spot in order to reduce the potential for scarring. If you dry out the spot too much, as well as the surrounding skin, you can cause scarring and this is much harder to treat than the original spot itself. Some of the products we mentioned in the video are listed below with my thoughts on why these are the best options to use for spot-prone skin, or even normal skin that is experiencing a breakout.

Eve Lom Rescue Mask - £35

The Rescue Mask contains camphor and almond extract which work to decongest and reduce redness. It also contains kaolin clay which is infused with honey which absorbs excess oil and reduces puffiness.
__WHY I LOVE IT:

This mask is a great one for saturating a spot as it has healing properties that don’t dry out the skin around the affected area.

NIOD Flavanone Mud Mask - £29

A brand under the umbrella of Deciem, founded in 2013 by Brandon Truaxe. Deciem describes themselves as ‘The Abnormal Beauty Company’ because of their use of cutting-edge science at modest price points.
__KEY INGREDIENTS:

A rinse-off treatment containing a black Amazonian Clay which helps to dissolve the build-up of impurities in the surface of the skin, including excess oil, makeup and pollution.
__WHY I LOVE IT: __
Any mud mask is great at removing impurities, you do not need to be spending lots of money, however I love the NIOD Flavanone Mud Mask because of the feeling it leaves the skin with once removed. It doesn’t completely dry out the skin, which some

Non-sterile Gauze Swabs - £6
For milia removal you can use any non-sterile gauze swabs, make sure everything you use to puncture or clean the skin with is expertly clean and never use the same tool or gauze on more than one area of the skin.
