"Lucy is back in my closet this week going through my blazers. I’ve collected so many gorgeous blazers throughout my career, but there are some classics that I believe every woman should consider for her wardrobe…
For me, the most classic blazer is the navy blazer. My favourite shade is Zara’s French navy, but I also love airforce navy and what I'm inclined to call ""navy navy"". The high-street offers some fantastic blazers, and I love getting inspiration from stores like Zara before I invest in something more high-end, as I know I’ll get my money’s worth if I already adore the cheaper version.
Stella McCartney creates gorgeous blazers, and I’ve collected several over the years. I love her designs so much, that whilst in the New Delhi market in India, I had a replica of her blazer produced in my favourite navy blue as she didn’t make one in this colour. It’s an homage to her and her incredible tailoring.
When buying a blazer, I always look at where the buttons are positioned. My favourite while blazer from Zara is tailored perfectly, as the button is placed exactly where a high-waisted trouser begins, making my legs look longer than they are.
Ladies, you know me, and know that sequin blazers are fundamental pieces in my wardrobe, and I would always recommend investing. Asos and Zara both do excellent sequins and shimmer, and they make me feel so joyful every time I put them on.
I also have a few blazers that simply don’t fit me anymore, but instead of throwing them away, I cut out their sleeve lining, layer them over waistcoats, or even just wear them over my shoulders. Enjoy restyling the blazers in your wardrobe ladies…"
