Like all skin, our hands can start to show signs of ageing. Tendons and veins begin to show and the skin becomes a bit thinner. There are certain creams and serums available, but today I’m looking at an alternative for the crepey, thin skin on my hands that really masks those symptoms.
It’s a product called Ellansé and today it’s being administered by the fabulous Dr Wassim. Ellansé is a small injection that works in two ways. Firstly, it volumises the skin initially. Then, as the volumising capability goes down, it releases microspheres of a compound that stimulates type one collagen - the wonderful stuff that keeps our skin lovely and bouncy.
Today ladies was a moment of total self-indulgence as I had Amy who works for Teresa Tarmey doing a dermalux LED treatment on me at the same time. It works to take away my tiredness (and distract me from the potential pain of the hand treatment…).
After administering the injections, Dr Wassim massages the product into my hands and towards the wrist to make sure the whole hand feels the benefit. Once both hands are complete, he uses some post-procedure fluid containing arnica and aloe to soothe my skin and reduce the redness. The effect is almost immediate which is quite amazing.
So ladies, remember to always start by applying SPF on your hands and be what I call hand-proud...
