Some people prefer not to have a very layered skincare routine and in that instance, I would suggest an all-in-one-serum. You should always feel that they are doing more than just a moisturiser due to their smaller molecular size. These singular serums still pack a punch with a huge list of great ingredients. Here I have chosen my favourite…

The first is Balancing Skin Concentrate (£24.50) by Boots. Developed by a team of dermatologists, this concentrate contains green tea and vitamin C. Although I approached it with trepidation, the texture is lovely and blends beautifully onto the skin.

Next up is Vitamin A + C Serum (€42) by Skingredients. Jennifer Rock, a fantastic Irish facialist and author of The Skin Nerd blog, sought to create a line focussed on clean ingredients, and this particular formula consists of two forms of vitamin V, two forms of vitamin C and vitamin E. With a good level of antioxidants and ideal for anything from fine lines to enlarged pores, it’s a great AM/PM product.

My high price product is C.E.O Vitamin C Brightening Serum (£70) by Sunday Riley. Packed with ascorbic acid, ascorbic palmitate and vitamin E, this formula is potent but the payoff is fantastic.

Then last but not at all least is the most expensive Day Serum (£135) by Emepelle. From a brand committed to targeting perimenopausal and menopausal women and therefore looking to boost collagen production, this serum contains vitamin C, vitamin E, ferulic acid, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. Perfect for oestrogen-deficient skin, the smell is medicinal and the formula great for facial massage.

So ladies and boys, which will you choose?
