One of my favourite parts of a skincare routine includes the use of a facial oil. Whether you’re opting for some Sunday skin self-care or want a quick bout of hydration during the day, consider a facial oil. When I’m having a bit of an indulgent Sunday skincare pamper, a facial oil is usually the last thing I massage into my skin as it helps to begin the process of lymphatic draining. It truly takes me from looking a little puffy to a lot more perky. Why not use an oil as the base for a facial massage in the morning to stimulate some blood flow for a fantastic lift at the start of your day? I also tend to use face oils just after a serum to lock in some hydration and give myself a bit more elasticity and oxygenation — the skin does need to breathe…

The first of my fabulous four is the Pricky Pear Seed Oil by Garden of Wisdom (£20).
Native to Morocco, this oil is a richer source of hydration than argan oil with more vitamin E making it brilliant for age spots and pigmentation. The viscosity isn’t too runny, you can feel this oil sink beautifully into the skin rather than just sitting on top of it. Light and lovely…

Next is the Skin Balancing Face Oil by Jurlique (£43). This is especially fabulous for dry skin thanks to the avocado oil and jojoba seed, they provide just the right amount of nourishment. This oil is great for a little stimulation massage. Don’t forget those eyelids...

Next up is Instant Revival Booster by MV Organic Skincare (£70). Founded by Sharon McGlinchey, a holistic facial therapist, this oil boasts a good amount of antioxidants such as rosehip, camellia oil and fatty acids, making it great for sun-damaged skin and inflammation. Heady and heavenly.

On the more expensive side, we have the final oil. This is the Active Botanical Serum by Vintner’s Daughter (£175). Inspired by the infusion of multiple ingredients, founder April Gargiulo blended over 60 botanicals in a laborious process to produce this powerhouse product.
