I have been coming to Peter Jones in Sloane Square since I was a baby. As part of the John Lewis chain it is a staple of the British High Street. I don't venture into this store much anymore, I've bought things for my mother in here, the clothing is classic and good quality but does it excite me as much as Zara? I'm sorry to say I found it disappointing and what's sad about this is it's full of British brands. I hope it's just the buyer because I believe that British designers are strong and have very much established themselves at the top of a competitive fashion market, so I'm unsure why most items in here are shapeless, dull and over priced. However, the one designer who's got it spot on is Alice Temperley with her Somerset collection, thank goodness it's here as it's the one brand that would bring me back to the store.
There is a market for safe fashion but to me at 55, I feel the majority of the clothes in here are aging, that's the last thing I want to do and I'm sure you ladies feel the same..
