Skincare Q&A

Ladies, let’s talk about our skin. There are so many lotions and potions on the market that claim to give you that clear skin and youthful glow, that I like to try them for myself and share my favourites.

ACNE

I’m often asked what’s the secret to great skincare, and I have to be honest and say that unless you have a clean and balanced lifestyle, you may not have clean and balanced skin. I suffered from adult acne for around 13 years, and I know now that your lifestyle can dictate your skin’s appearance.
- Supplements
By taking a daily supplement, you can look after your skin internally. I recommend zinc for reducing inflammation and bacteria.
- Sleep
Getting enough sleep is vital, but you should also sleep on clean pillow cases, to reduce your skin’s contact with bacteria.
- Sugar
Sugar is the enemy of good skin. I often take Tri-Chromium to help suppress my sugar cravings as it balances out my blood sugar levels.
- Diet
Check if you have an intolerance to certain things in your diet that may be causing you to break out.
- LED Light Therapy
This is a brilliant treatment for healing skin and reducing scaring.
- Doctor
Visit your GP for antibiotics if nothing else works.

TRAVELLING

Ladies, if you’re often on the go or travelling abroad, I believe it’s important to maintain a good skincare routine. I use refillable, travel-size bottles from Muji to decant my favourite products into so that I can nurture my skin in different climates or conditions. It saves space in your suticase and you can feel confident that your skin won’t bear the brunt of your travels.

EYE CREAMS

Does a brilliant eye cream exist? For me, I don’t think you need to invest in them, as I use serums all over my face. I take them down onto my neck too to keep it hydrated and supple.

EXFOLIATING TONERS

If you want to reduce your pore size, I would recommend an exfoliating toner. My skin is oilier in the summer, so my pores are bigger, but I use exfoliating toners all year round to help keep my pores small and clean. For a quick fix, I use our Miracle Blur, as it fills in fine lines and wrinkles, and also makes pores disappear. It really is a miracle…

RETINOL

Retinol is a product a lot of women tell me they're scared to start using. When you first use retinol, choose one with a low concentration , as you shouldn’t peel, but should feel like your face is invigorated. You can also get a good active retinol without spending a fortune.

And that’s it ladies… remember, you don’t have to spend a huge amount of money cleaning your skin, you just need to make sure it’s really clean…
