the end of no-spend January is finally here

Style | Shop ups

Ladies, I have made it to the end of my no-shopping January so that means one thing and one thing only… it’s time for a Zara Shop Up. At long last I can return to this fashion mecca in Duke of York square just as it begins to welcome the initial trickling of its spring/summer collection. We’re looking at the pieces to purchase now that will see you through the transitional months right into the height of spring.

I’ve been looking to Vogue.com for the key trends this season and they’re showing us short suits, white, neon and iterations of the trench. These are always good to keep in mind but to me, it’s about what suits you and not necessarily buying into transient trends. Buying what suits you is the best way of ensuring you are shopping responsibly and with long-term investment. There’s more permanent appeal to items such as a white coat, a Prince of Wales checked blazer and a sleeveless shirt - all delightfully versatile items that you can wear again and again.

This time round, I have my eye on a cool textured purple jumper, an ecru blazer I would wear closed and a fab folksy dress, amongst many other pieces…

There’s lots to come in Zara’s new collection but I hope this gives you a little February pick-me-up…
