The softer side of smoky eyes
When people hear the words “smoky eye”, they often think of deep, dark shades that feel a little intimidating – but black isn’t the only way to do a smoky eye. Talented Pro Makeup Artist Jaimie Attfield puts that stereotype to bed with a quick and easy tutorial for a fresh take on the classic smoky.
The soft-to-shimmering Eye2Eye shades in our New Beginnings collection are essential to this look – taking inspiration from dreamy open landscapes, cherry blossoms and blushing skies, our new shades create the dreamiest eye looks for spring.
Jaimie starts by applying a wash of Eye2Eye in Dawn, a shimmery rosé champagne, across the entire lid for a subtle, light-reflecting base. She then uses the deep dusky rose of Eye2Eye in Chance to define the outer corner of the eyes. The cream-based formula makes it incredibly easy to soften any harsh edges with your fingers, or the T-Kit brush, for a nicely diffused finish. Finally, Jaimie uses the T-Kit liner brush to apply that same deep dusky rose to the lash line for a little added definition – this doesn’t need to be neat, it can be really soft and smudgy.
Jaimie also wears Flush Blush in Wiggs on her cheeks and Lip Glow in Cordy on her lips – wonderfully soft, complementary tones that instantly tie the whole look together.
There you have it ladies and boys, smoky eyes for spring – not such an oxymoron after all...
